Red Hills Energy Partners draws its name from one of North America’s most prolific oil-producing regions in southeast New Mexico. Our north star is embedded in our name. We seek to aggregate high-return assets that provide sustained value over time.

  • Founder & Managing Partner

    Megan Hays has 19 years of experience in the energy sector, working across public and private upstream oil and gas companies and in investment at an energy-focused asset manager. She is a co-founder and managing partner of Red Hills Energy Partners.

    Before founding Red Hills, Megan served as Managing Director and Head of Sustainable Investment and Engagement at Kimmeridge, an energy-focused asset manager. Before Kimmeridge, she was Vice President of Investor Relations at Cimarex Energy. From 2014 to 2021, Megan was Vice President of Investor Relations and Public Affairs at Concho Resources. At Concho, Megan led investor relations and supported capital markets and M&A activities, including Concho’s $9.5 billion acquisition of RSP Permian in 2018 and the company’s ultimate $10 billion sale to ConocoPhillips in 2021.

    Megan currently serves on the advisory board of the Ralph Lowe Energy Institute at the Neeley School of Business.


  • Founder & Managing Partner

    Michael Healey is a co-founder and managing partner of Red Hills Energy Partners. Michael has 15 years of public and private oil and gas experience in evaluations, accounting, finance, business development, and investor relations.

    Before Red Hills, Michael was Vice President at Kimmeridge Energy Management as a member of the investment team supporting the firm’s sustainability initiatives, public equity investments, and private investments. Before Kimmeridge, Michael was Director, Planning and Economics for the Permian Basin Business Unit at ConocoPhillips. Additionally, at ConocoPhillips, Michael served as Director of Delaware Basin FP&A, where he led accounting integrations for the Company’s $ 9.5 billion acquisition of Concho Resources and its $9.5 billion acquisition of Shell’s assets in the Permian Basin. Michael joined ConocoPhillips from Concho Resources, where he was Investor Relations Manager, supporting M&A, capital markets, and investor communications. Michael joined Concho Resources from RSP Permian, where he supported the accounting integration Concho’s $9.5 billion acquisition of RSP Permian. Before RSP Permian, Michael spent seven years at ConocoPhillips in economic analysis, accounting, financial analysis, and commercial roles.


  • Founder & Partner

    Nick Allen has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and is a co-founder and partner at Red Hills Energy Partners. Previously at ConocoPhillips in Houston, he held senior leadership roles, overseeing global crude oil and NGL marketing and trading, and later served as Vice President of Global LNG.

    Nick began his career on the International Petroleum Exchange, brokering futures and options for E.D. & F Man and later J.P. Morgan. He joined ConocoPhillips in London in 1997, worked in derivatives trading, and then managed the European physical gasoline trading business. He led the European Natural Gas, Power & Carbon Trading Desk and later became Manager of Europe Commercial. Nick was responsible for the marketing, trading, and commercial development of ConocoPhillips' equity production across Europe and Africa.

    Bringing deep commercial expertise and strategic insight, Nick is currently an Executive Advisor to Tallgrass, an Advisory Board member at Enertech Capital, and a former Board member of the Bauer Business School at the University of Houston.
